About us

Camden is building somewhere everyone can thrive, by making our borough the best place to live, work, study, and visit. Because we’re not just home to the UK’s fast-growing economy. We’re home to the most important conversations happening today. And we’re making radical social change a reality, so that nobody gets left behind. This is an exciting time to be joining Digital and Data Services at Camden, and this is a Delivery Manager role within our newly formed Digital Products and Services team.

The role

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team and reporting to the Lead Delivery Manager, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of digital products & services across Camden. You will be a part of a newly re-shaped team, helping to improve agile ways of working in both digital product development and the wider council organisation and take an active role in our delivery community of practice.

You will work closely with product managers, user researchers, designers, and developers to help create and update products and services across Camden.

You will use your existing delivery experience gained in forward looking digital product teams to help ensure our products are delivered efficiently, to a high quality and are able to respond quickly to change.

You will deliver digital products and services by being the delivery manager for multidisciplinary product teams. Taking responsibility for agile practice; coaching other members; removing blockers; and deliver a backlog of work in line with user needs.

You will undertake all duties with due regard to the provisions of health and safety regulations and legislation, Data Protection/GDPR, the Council’s Equal Opportunities and Customer Care policies.

About You

As Delivery Manager you will lead the end-to-end delivery of new digital services for multi-disciplinary product teams through the product lifecycle and into continuous delivery and support.

You will be a champion for agile delivery and take an active role in developing our Delivery community of practice, working across the organisation and outside to develop our team and engage others in it.

You will be experienced in leading the delivery of evidence driven, user needs focussed product backlogs, from inception to first delivery and beyond.

You will have overseen planning of releasable value cycles and milestones, judging when to move between product phases.

You will be comfortable seeking consultation from a wide range of stakeholders and partners, planning and delivering product features in line with user needs, business needs and operational considerations.

You will have a comprehensive understanding of the design, technology and data principles used by cross-discipline product teams with proven experience of agile delivery. You will have taken responsibility for the delivery of digital products and services within private or public organisations using agile methodologies & techniques.

You will have experience of using tools and techniques from both traditional project management and agile approaches and be able to decide when it is appropriate to use them and constantly strive to help our team to work better and share knowledge across the council and wider local government network.

You are engaged with a wide range of agile & lean thinking, from backlog management to estimation to continuous delivery.

You are comfortable working with numerous stakeholders across all levels of seniority, ensuring they are kept informed at every stage of delivery and confidently communicate across the whole organisation using a high standard of written and verbal presentation.
