Redbridge is an ambitious, diverse and exciting east-London borough. What we do is driven by changing our relationship with local people to support our vision. As a result, we've developed innovative ways to build our communities and transform our Council.

We're one of the fastest growing parts of the country and the third most diverse London borough. Our communities are attracted by a mixture of excellent schools, relatively affordable housing, high-quality open space and rapid transport connections into the heart of the city.

The Early Years and Childcare Improvement Team (EYCIT) are looking to appoint a passionate individual with experience of developing practice within the Early Years. The successful candidate will work alongside colleagues in supporting early years settings within the borough to deliver high-quality provision to ensure all children can achieve their full potential.

An Early Years Improvement Advisor provides advice, training, challenge and support to Registered Providers, Leaders, Managers and Practitioners working within Private, Voluntary and Independent settings such as day nurseries, pre-schools, out of school provision and childminders. Whilst the role involves supporting the development of provision and practice relating to the requirements of the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage, a particular emphasis for this role is on the teaching, learning and assessment requirements.

The developing of high-quality practice is a fundamental part of the Early Years Improvement Advisor role. Whilst each setting must meet the requirements of the Statutory Framework, each will approach this differently. We are therefore looking for an individual with experience and knowledge of the different types of early years settings.

An Early Years Improvement Advisor will work collaboratively with internal and external contacts to enhance training and support materials used to develop the quality of practice within Early Years Settings. An in-depth understanding of child development and the ability to apply this knowledge to training and support is essential.

If you are enthusiastic about developing outstanding Early Years practice and provision and have a passion to improve outcomes for all young children, we would like to hear from you.

Please see the Job Description and Person Specification for further details on the post. If you would like further information, please contact Karen Finney karen.finney@redbridge.gov.uk

Interviews will be held week commencing 21st November 2022.
