Qualified Teacher of the Visually Impaired. Full Time, Permanent, MPS + SEN 2

The Sensory Service is a well-established and highly effective specialist team within a unified Specialist Education Support Service. They work with children and young people from birth to 25. We work with families in the home, with settings, schools and colleges to promote effective inclusion.
We are looking for someone who is a committed and enthusiastic qualified teacher of the Visually Impaired to join a developing team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing direct and advisory services for students with visual impairment in mainstream and special schools. They will need to have excellent oral and written communication skills and understand the barriers to access arrangements and learning that children and young people with a vision impairment face and how these barriers may be overcome. Specialist knowledge and experience in SEND and vision impairment is essential. The post holder will need to have an ability to challenge, motivate and inspire teachers, teaching assistants, parents/carers and professionals across the Children and Young People’s Service. A commitment to inclusive education for all students with visual impairment is required.
