About us
In Camden we are committed to working together to make our borough the best place to live, work, study, and visit. Partnership with our communities is central to the way we work, so that everyone can access opportunities, and nobody gets left behind. Here’s where you can help decide a better future for us all.

The role
We are seeking a physical activity specialist to work as part of a team to deliver a new Get Active Service across Camden and Islington. The post-holder will work directly with inactive residents who have been referred by their healthcare professional, and will use evidence-based behaviour change techniques to support service users to increase their physical activity levels. The role will involve building strong relationships with professionals working across primary and secondary care, as well as community partners and local physical activity providers.

About you
You will understand behaviour change and hold a minimum REPS level 3 qualification.

You will have the ability to communicate effectively to a diverse range of service users, and will have experience of working with inactive people, older adults, and people living with long-term conditions.

You will have knowledge of the principles and best practice of prescribing and signposting people to help them access appropriate opportunities to be active.

You will have the ability to communicate effectively with health professionals and  partner organisations.

You will have a good understanding around issues of anti-racism, equity in physical activity, and maximising access by groups which are under-represented.

You will have excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work as part of a team to help deliver an agreed level of performance, quality and customer care. You will use your own initiative to plan your work, and meet delivery deadlines and targets, without supervision.

You will have the ability to use and maintain information systems including MS Word, Excel Outlook and other software as required.
