If you are a positive, creative communications professional with exceptional writing skills and strong political awareness, then we would love to hear from you!

We’re looking for an enthusiastic individual to take on the role of communications officer at Local London. This is a busy and varied post where you will be able to take the lead on promoting the success of Local London’s programmes and appropriately communicating important information that effects our 8 boroughs. You will also be responsible for developing innovative multimedia campaigns to support our programmes and initiatives and take the lead on our managing communications through our social media platforms.

We would love to hear your great ideas and would expect you to be confident in supporting our Senior Management Team in developing and executing Local London’s communications strategy.  You will have the opportunity to promote stories from some high-profile programmes such as the Work and Health Programme. It is therefore essential that you apply your experience in working in politically sensitive environments, prioritising, making decisions, and escalating where appropriate.

Local London staff are employed on Redbridge Council terms and conditions. The post is based in Ilford at the LB Redbridge but the postholder will be required to work flexibly, including working primarily from home and travelling to meetings and events across the Local London area and working remotely as required by the demands of the workload.

To apply for this post please complete the online application form and attach your CV and a Covering Letter addressing how you meet the criteria for the role as stated in the person specification.

All short-listed applicants will need to demonstrate proof of right to work in the UK. At the London Borough of Redbridge, we receive a high volume of great-quality applicants, we therefore may close a vacancy earlier than advertised. Early applications are therefore encouraged.

We are committed to employment practices that promote diversity and inclusion in employment and welcome applications from qualified applicants regardless of age, disability, gender identity, sex, marriage and civil partnership status, pregnancy and maternity status, colour, race, religion, or belief.
