Senior Programme Coordinator (Culture)
London Borough of Culture supports London boroughs to deliver ambitious creative place-based programmes, celebrating their unique character, stories, and identities, and bringing together world class cultural organisations with the voice of local people at the centre. Projects focus on young people, community and civic engagement, health and wellbeing, jobs and skills in the creative industries and the environment.
The programme aims for boroughs to better understand, value, embed and invest in culture across their communities. Following the success of round one in Waltham Forest (2019) and Brent (2020), round two is being delivered in Lewisham in 2022 and Croydon in 2023, with Liberty, the Mayor’s festival for D/deaf, disabled and neurodiverse artists, embedded in each title year.
You will lead on the development of strategic partnerships which add value to the London Borough of Culture programme, strengthen its legacy and support London’s recovery. You will be responsible for the procurement, contract management and negotiation of funding agreements related to these partnerships.
You will manage relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, including the existing cohort of London Borough of Culture boroughs. You will lead the development of an advocacy plan which builds on the evaluation framework, to promote and communicate the value of London Borough of Culture to a range of audiences to inform future policy, partnerships and funding.
The Culture and Creative Industries Unit works to support London’s creative and night-time sector, particularly in recovery from the impacts of COVID-19, maintain London’s leading position as a city of culture and increase Londoners’ access to and participation in culture.
