We are also looking for someone with excellent organisational skills, the ability to prioritise their workload and be able to communicate effectively with our various stakeholders across the city.

About the role

The Street Cleansing Senior Supervisor will help with the day-to-day running of the Street Cleaning service. The role will involve supervising the workforce to make sure their daily tasks are completed while also ensuring the work is accomplished safely and efficiently. The role will also include daily supervision of street cleaners, attending meetings with various stakeholders and liaising with the management when required.

You will also play a lead role in planning, organising and coordinating daily tasks for the streets team. You will also manage and train staff, identify and implement safe working practices in line with the relevant health and safety legislation and ensure performance targets and service standards are met.

This role will be a key role within the Street Cleansing Team.  Current responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring workforce performance against targets to ensure all daily/weekly/monthly KPI's are met.
  • Ensuring that all company policies, procedures and legal obligations are understood and adhered to by all members of staff.
  • Developing and maintaining excellent working relationships with various stakeholders.
  • Helping management carry out Health and Safety training regularly for all staff.
  • Ensuring that safety checks are carried out regularly.

Shift Pattern:

5:00 am to 13:00 pm * Extra pavements made for early starts (unsocial hours 5 am-6 am) and weekend cover (average cover is one weekend of seven.)

The applicant for the role must hold a clean driving licence category B.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.
