The Role:

Southwark Repairs is a customer focused service and we are working on our Improvement Plan to become a fit for the future service that put residents at its heart.

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and highly motivated person to become a contract officer within the Specialist Services team.

In this role you will provide support to a range of housing professionals who deliver services that include legal disrepair, arbitration, fire safety, adaptations, repairs & works across Southwark’s housing stock.

As a Contracts Officer you will be responsible for an array of tasks including managing and monitoring contractors in their delivery of services, managing data systems, supporting the disrepair team, dealing with arbitration matters, liaising with customers, contractors, internal and external agencies and representatives, providing regular reports for statistical information as well as managing financial payments and work programmes.

About you:

You will need to be enthusiastic, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

You will need to have a great attention to detail, take pride in what you do while promoting and conveying the council’s promise of putting customers at the heart of all you do and deliver value for money, applying the principle of spending money as if it was from your own pocket.
