School Support Services Commissioner

As our new School Support Services Commissioner, your background in children’s services commissioning will mean you can help us give all our children and young people the very best start in life.

This is your opportunity to contribute by commissioning, procuring and performance managing a wide range of services, including our free school meals offer and our school support services contract.  As well as taking a leading role in all aspects of the commissioning cycle, you will also have the chance to promote and sell Newham Council as a provider of specialist services to Newham’s schools, including our highly regarded education psychology service.

Managing a small team and holding budgetary responsibility for c£8m per annum, become an integral part of our Education Access & Infrastructure service, which ensures that a range of services are in place to enable schools to function effectively for all our children and young people.

We want you to build excellent relationships with Headteachers, Schools, Providers and across the Council to help us deliver our pledge to the Borough’s children and young people: to be among the best in Britain for academic achievement.
