We are looking for passionate and dedicated Care Support Workers to join our team of flexible bank staff (zero hour contract).  This post is to work specifically in Charles Harper House in Basildon. 

Charles Harper House is a supported housing scheme for people with learning difficulties and sensory issues.  The scheme consists of eight self-contained flats, two on-site offices, a communal area and a large garden.

You will need to be qualified in BSL Level 2 or be part of the deaf community.

You will also have the opportunity to work in our other services across South Essex including Basildon, Thurrock, Chelmsford & Witham. Experience in the following client groups is preferred, however, this is not essential:

  • Learning Disability - Care
  • Some services have a secondary disability - Physical 

Our staff should be reliable, flexible, motivational and have excellent values. They should be able to demonstrate that they are committed to providing outstanding support services to vulnerable adults. A clear understanding of Safeguarding is essential. Training and support provided. 

Please note this role may involve personal care.  You will be comfortable undertaking a full range of manual handling tasks, including assistance with hoists and wheelchairs. You should be positive, caring and focused on encouraging choice, self-worth and assisting our customers to get out and about enjoying themselves in the local community. If you want to make a difference to someone in your community, support them to achieve their potential and help them enjoy life, then we want to hear from you.

An example of the shifts you may cover; 7am - 2.30pm, 2.30pm - 10pm and 10pm - 7am (sleep in/wake nights).

  • Sleep-in payments £73.89 per night (as applicable)
