We are looking for a candidate who has the motivation and creativity to lead and manage the development and quality of Occupational Therapy practice in Croydon Adult Social Care.

Our fundamental vision for adult social care remains that residents live as independent lives as possible, and carers are supported in their role. We must target our offer and be precise in what we can affordably do for our residents. Where possible, enabling our residents to have their own front door, and to live in the borough. Our adult social care offer must be understood by all, focussed on our enabling our workforce to deliver benefits for our residents, primarily:

•    Safeguarding vulnerable adults 

•    Providing social care information and advice to all residents and their families who need it 

•    Supporting residents in partnership with statutory and voluntary sector organisations in an asset based approach

•    Providing support proportionately, ensuring we make best use of the resources we have available 

•    Integration with health where it makes sense for local residents. 

•    Developing an integrated plan to manage the effects of long-COVID.

 

 

This is an exciting opportunity to provide strategic change management and practice leadership across an integrated Service. This is an opportunity to support communities in a place based manner and lead on a prevention  minded agenda within a multi-agency landscape. You will work closely with he senior management team within the Council’s Adult Social Care and Commissioning Directorates as well as with Equipment suppliers, 3rd Sector and faith based partners and Croydon Health Services and the Croydon CCG.

 

 

You will also represent Adult Social Care & raise the profile of Occupational Therapy at local, regional, and national forums will be an integral part of your role. You will also create and sustain meaningful links with the Royal College of Occupational Therapy.

 

 

The successful candidate will have a professional qualification in Occupational Therapy and be registered with HCPC along with significant relevant post qualification experience dealing with complex and challenging casework. Experience of providing professional supervision to both senior OT and relevant practice leads is essential for this role as well as experience of delivering on change management projects.
