About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join a service that has a direct influence on supporting residents and elected Members in the city of Brighton & Hove.
We are one of the busiest unitary Highway Authorities outside London and this role will be central to supporting the Business Development Manager and relevant Senior Managers in ensuring Committee Reports are written and delivered on time. This role will also Focus on providing excellent customer service and ensuring complaints and enquiries are responded to within a timely manner for City Transport. You will also provide project support for a number of projects within city transport.

As the successful candidate you will have a good knowledge of dealing with Member enquiries and members of the public as well as having excellent organisational skills. You will also have a strong customer ethos and excellent communication skills.
You will be based in our modern, open plan offices in Hove Town Hall and benefit from flexible working, including home-working. Joining an enthusiastic and supportive team, you will collaborate with colleagues from a range of fields, working closely with Transport Project teams to deliver transport changes across the city.
This role is part of a newly expanded team that will respond flexibly and efficiently to the growing development demands of the city.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.

Part office / part home – hybrid - We offer the opportunity for the suitable candidate to choose to work in a hybrid way. Your specific working arrangements will be subject to team and service working arrangements already in place alongside Government guidance. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team and travel to and from your contractual location would be at your own expense.
