Job introduction
Longhill High School have an exciting opportunity within our Schools Premises team for an apprentice following a Property Maintenance Operative Level 2 Apprenticeship with enhanced plumbing skills
The team conducts the maintenance and cleaning of the school buildings and grounds on a rotating shift.
You will be employed for 37 hours a week all year-round working Monday to Friday from 9.00 a.m. to 17.00 p.m. The apprenticeship is for 18-months. Part of these hours will used to learn and practice the skills required in order to complete the apprenticeship. In the case of this apprenticeship there will be an emphasis on additional plumbing skills above those detailed in the standard. The apprentice will also performance regular cleaning and premises takes along with the premises team.
The apprenticeship standard is Property Maintenance Operative Level 2
The apprenticeship is recognised by the British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM) and provides Associate Membership for the apprentice whilst studying.
The apprentice will learn the basic carpentry, electrical, plumbing and decorating which is an ideal base to specialise in plumbing or Electrical apprenticeship following completion.
The school will work in partnership with Chichester College Group to deliver the standard and enhanced plumbing skills at their Crawley Campus. There will be day release at Crawley College and training and reviews taking place in the workplace.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.

If you are resident through a visa, leave to remain or other means please confirm type and that any expiry date covers the duration of the apprenticeship once it is due to start. Those on a student visa or non-UK/non EEA nationals who have been here in the last three years for other educational purposes may not be eligible.
