We have been successful in securing funding through the North London Housing Partnership to launch a new short-term accommodation-based service for women experiencing homelessness based in Islington. We have 2 Full Time (37.5 hours) positions available.

This service will accommodate women aged 18+ in a 9-bed property with single bedrooms and shared kitchen, bathroom facilities with an office on site also. The service is to be staffed 24/7 and your role will be to assess and support need, provide stability of accommodation and to utilise strengths based approaches in your work. You will develop, empower and enable move on to more appropriate longer term services within a 3 month period for each person accommodated.

You will work on a rota basis including evenings, weekends and bank holidays and will work either an early (8am-4pm) or late (2pm-10pm) shift. Your shifts will require mostly lone working so the ability to dynamically assess situations and to keep yourself and others safe is key.

NB: These posts are open to female applicants only.  This service is covered by a Genuine Occupational Requirement (Schedule 9, Equality Act 2010) due to the nature of the service and client group to be worked with.

At Peabody, where possible, we provide flexible working opportunities from day one to our employees, as we recognise the importance of a good work-life balance; and to improve our productivity and performance, we embrace agile working, which means if you are in a desk based role, that will be a hybrid of office and home working. If your role is in a client facing environment, appropriate base location will apply.

Our mission is to help people make the most of their lives and an important part of this is to ensure that our organisation reflects the wider communities we serve. We want to attract recruit and retain a diverse, inclusive and creative workforce to give us the best opportunity to meet the diverse needs of our residents and customers. We actively encourage applications from all groups and communities, as well as from BAME, LGBTQ+ and disabled people.
