The London Borough of Redbridge is a fantastic and busy place to work. And within the Authority, there is none more so than the Capital Delivery Service, who are at the forefront of much of the Authority’s built asset delivery.

The Capital Delivery Service are a key service area who work on built scheme development and delivery across a range of areas, including Housing, Education, Leisure, Culture and Regeneration. We deliver much needed new affordable housing, schools and teaching facilities, leisure facilities and public spaces.

It’s an exciting time for the Capital Delivery Service with an existing scheme portfolio of c.£300m full of exciting and interesting schemes, and to add, with more schemes in the pipeline to follow.

This is why we are now recruiting for permanent Project Managers (x3) to join our busy and expanding Capital Delivery Service team.

Reporting directly to the Head of Capital, the Project Manager will be assigned and lead the delivery of a range of projects within the Council’s programmes, across Housing, Education, Leisure, Culture and Regeneration. Scheme values can typically be £500k-£5m.

As a Project Manager you will be responsible for managing the work of assigned consultants, professional teams and contractors. The Project Manager will also be expected to work with assigned senior colleagues such as a Senior Project Manager where applicable.

You will also be expected to engage as required with members and Senior Officers in all departments across the Council; regulatory and professional bodies; tenants/leaseholders; voluntary and community groups, and members of the public.

As Project Manager you will be expected to lead their assigned schemes through all stages of a project’s development and delivery and must have demonstrable experience and skills in areas such as Programme management, Health & Safety, Design Development, Cost Development and Management, Planning, Building Control and Sustainability.

You will:

  • Be enthusiastic and proactive in your work approach
  • Be both a team player and work independently
  • Preferably have new build and refurbishment experience
  • Have demonstrable experience in the industry, including experience having worked for a local Authority in a similar project delivery role
  • Be able to work from home, office, project site and contractor location as required.
