Property Licensing Administration Officer
1 year Fixed-Term Contract/ Secondment
Ealing is one of the most diverse and largest boroughs in London with more than 143,000 residential properties and around 54,000 are rented from private landlords. With more people living in rented properties than ever before we are committed to improving the overall standard of private rented property in the borough.
On 1 April 2022 Ealing Council’s new property licensing schemes came into force to assist in driving up standards in the private rented sector. The licensing schemes make it a legal requirement for landlords to obtain a licence to operate certain types of houses in multiple occupation (HMO) anywhere in Ealing, or to let a home in three selected wards of the borough.
As a result, Ealing Council is looking to recruit a number of Property Licensing Administration Officers to provide administrative support for the efficient delivery of private rented property licences.
As the successful candidate you will be responsible for processing private rented property licensing applications. You will also be the first point of contact for enquiries and will provide technical advice and guidance to landlords and agents on compliance with the property licensing schemes.
To be considered for the role you will need the following:
· Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
· Experience of office administration tasks and procedures
· Ability to accurately check and verify documents
· Experience of working in a customer focused service
This is an exciting time to join Ealing Council and be a part of the Property Regulation Team.
The Benefits:
• Flexible Working
• Generous annual leave
• Local government pension scheme
• The council is a member of the ‘Enterprise car club’ scheme, giving you access to vehicles when performing your duties.
This role is deemed customer facing and as such you must have a command of spoken English which is sufficient to enable you to effectively perform the role. This requirement relates to Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016.
This role is subject to Ealing's enhanced vetting process.
