Procurement Officer
Take your interest in finance and procurement to the next level
In Kensington and Chelsea, we put local people and local businesses at the heart of decision-making, working in partnership with them to provide quality services that are responsive, effective and efficient. Our new and growing in-house procurement team works hard to make a strong, positive difference for the people and communities we serve. We advise internal customers on buying goods and services, and create partnerships with suppliers – all to ensure we spend the council’s money wisely.
The Role:
If you have a head for numbers and a good eye for detail, this is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in finance and procurement. Following well-defined policies and procedures, you’ll carry out a wide range of administrative tasks such as setting up suppliers on the system, supporting contract management and dealing with queries. Working alongside collaborative and supportive colleagues, you can grow your role as our team continues to expand.
Please refer to the Job Description for more information.
About You:
Along with accuracy and attention to detail, good communication and customer service skills are vital. Experience of payment systems such as SAP or Oracle is welcome but not essential, providing you are comfortable with computers and keen to learn. Ideally educated to at least GCSE level, you’ll have a keen interest in finance and accounting.
In return, you can look forward to a package that includes a competitive salary, a high-quality pension scheme and generous annual leave plus bank holidays.
