Executive Support Officer
Hackney Council is looking for someone with exceptional organisational skills to join our executive support team to provide outstanding administrative support to the Chief Executive. Your role will be to support our senior leaders, enabling projects and services across the Council to run smoothly and efficiently. You will play an important part in helping us make Hackney a better place.
As an Executive Support Officer you will provide administrative support to the Chief Executive and the wider senior leadership team as well as leading a team of Executive Support Assistants. You will act as an important interface, managing a range of stakeholders within the Council and externally. To thrive in this role, you will need to have good judgement, a calm and confident approach and organisational knowledge. A flexible approach to workload and location is key.
We need someone with experience of managing and developing a team as you will line manage a team of support assistants. You should bring substantial PA/ executive support experience and be familiar with administration at a high level within a large, complex organisation. You should have a good understanding of the public sector and policies affecting local government.
We need someone who can prioritise competing workloads and remain flexible and level headed under pressure. You should be an expert communicator, able to delegate projects to senior officers on behalf of Directors as well as being able to draft reports and correspondence. You should be familiar with a range of IT packages, including Google Suite (Gmail, Google Calendar, Drive, Sheets and Docs) as well as Microsoft Office.
