Neighbourhood Services Coordinator RBKC582811

About Us:

Solving local issues in partnership with residents.

In Kensington and Chelsea, we put local people and local businesses at the heart of decision-making, working in partnership with them to provide quality services that are responsive, effective and efficient. Many of our communities are continuing to struggle following the Grenfell tragedy, and their challenges have become particularly acute during the pandemic. Our team of Neighbourhood Services Coordinators plays a crucial role in advocating for tenants and leaseholders living in council owned and managed properties. We are committed to ensuring everyone can access the support they need, when they need it.

The Role:

In this challenging role, you’ll draw together a range of support services for residents – including caretaking, repairs and social services – to provide a truly person-centred approach. From noise nuisance, hoarding, to property transfers, you’ll juggle a complex workload. Often the first point of contact at times of difficulty, you’ll solve problems in partnership with residents, and help them understand how council policy and procedures relate to them. You should also expect to liaise with outside agencies such as the police and environmental services, as well as councillors and MPs. From time to time you will also be called upon to deal with emergencies.

Please refer to the Job Description for more information.

About You:

Caring but pragmatic, you’re likely to have a background in frontline housing management, where you will have developed good insights into the challenges people face and how to address them. A strong commitment to equality and inclusivity is vital. You’ll be a sensitive communicator, able to adapt your approach to different people and circumstances.  You’ll also be calm under pressure. While much of the role is based in the community, you’ll need to be capable of following up issues through formal channels, which will require knowledge of housing and landlord legislation, and good writing skills.

In return, you can look forward to a package that includes a competitive salary, a high-quality pension scheme and generous annual leave plus bank holidays.

Please apply online explaining how you meet the requirements set out in the person specification and job description. CV’s alone will not be considered for this role.

We reserve the right to extend or close this vacancy early without warning subject to the volume of suitable applicants.
