About the Role

The Council is seeking to tackle enforcement in an efficient and effective manner with the planning enforcement team making a positive difference to the Borough. The Regeneration, Property and Planning Department have a vacancy for permanent position of Planning Enforcement Officer. The postholder will lead in the new ways of working for Planning Enforcement by communicating effectively with customers and managing their cases so that a decision is made within a short timeframe.
The job will require you to check and analyse planning legislation and policy to determine whether there is a breach of planning control and making a recommendation on how the case should be progressed. This may result in a planning application, taking enforcement action or finding that there is no breach or it is not expedient. There will also be involvement in planning and enforcement appeals.
