Brighton & Hove City Council is recruiting a Senior Employment and Litigation Lawyer.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-respected and well-resourced local government legal service as the Senior Lawyer with primary responsibility for employment law in our Housing and Litigation team.

Your role will include managing employment tribunal proceedings, advising senior management in relation to employment matters and providing advice on industrial relations. An excellent communicator, you will build strong relationships with clients and elected members and have line management and supervisory responsibility within the team.

The closing date for receiving completed application forms is midnight Monday 27th June 2022, with interviews likely to be held during the week commencing 11th July 2022

About the role

You will need to be an experienced Employment Lawyer and some knowledge of civil litigation, housing and/or licensing law would be beneficial. Previous management experience would also be beneficial.

In this key role you will be a member of the Legal Services Management Team and we are committed to supporting you. You will be part of the Council’s wider Managers’ Network and part of our Leadership Development Programme.

It’s a fantastic City and a stimulating environment to work in. You will manage a high profile and varied case load.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.
