Redbridge is an ambitious, diverse and exciting east-London borough. What we do is driven by changing our relationship with local people to support our vision. As a result, we've developed innovative ways to build our communities and transform our Council.

We're one of the fastest growing parts of the country and the third most diverse London borough. Our communities are attracted by a mixture of excellent schools, relatively affordable housing, high-quality open space and rapid transport connections into the heart of the City.

Work Redbridge, the Councils employment support and job brokerage service is seeking to grow the team to help deliver our Economic Recovery Programme in response to high levels of unemployment and support residents with Housing Needs into sustainable employment.

Work Redbridge has worked extensively with Housing and Benefits teams to develop an integrated model of delivery, supporting employment pathways and increasing opportunities for residents to access jobs. The team supported over 400 residents into employment in 2021/22 and assisted a further 400 who needed support to find work. This has made a real difference to residents by reducing reliance on benefits and allowing them to access more secure housing option.

As the Work Redbridge Advisor, you will manage a caseload of residents referred by Housing and Benefits teams to support them into sustainable employment.   You will deliver outreach and engagement, provide one to one information, advice and guidance, and signpost and refer clients to appropriate services. We are looking for someone with demonstrable experience of managing a case load of people with complex barriers and intensively supporting them with holistic assessment, effective coaching and motivating skills to move residents into sustainable work or training to meet progression and job outcome targets.
