Community Organiser x3
The programme
Redbridge is an ambitious, diverse and exciting east London borough. We’re one of the fastest growing parts of the country, and one of the most diverse boroughs in London. As a council, what we do is driven by changing our relationship with local people to make Redbridge a great place to live.
The Community Hubs programme is a flagship initiative at the heart of our vision for the borough.
We are working with residents to co-design and run five Community Hubs and a Civic Hub in accessible locations across the borough. Each hub will reflect local priorities and enable a range of activities and support across the local area. Hubs are physical buildings where local people can come together and use services such as libraries, GP surgeries and community spaces.

The role
We are looking for three enthusiastic, committed Community Organisers to engage with residents across Redbridge and ensure that local people are at the heart of the Community Hubs programme.
You will build new relationships with local residents and community groups, connecting them with each other and supporting them to play a central role in the Community Hubs programme, the design of their local Hub and the delivery of activities in their local area.
You will be responsible for enabling the Community Hubs programme and other council initiatives to collaborate with local residents, also championing community engagement, participation and co-design within the council. You will also need to work with colleagues and organisations from wider sectors.
As a member of the Community Hubs team, you will play an important role in shaping how the team operates and empowering colleagues to lead change, as well as ensuring that local residents feed into your area of work.
This exciting role is a fantastic opportunity to make a difference to Redbridge communities by ensuring that residents are central to the design and delivery of the programme and each hub, as well as developing new skills and being part of a dynamic team.
Our offices are in Ilford, although as Community Organiser you will need to have a presence in the communities we are working with across the borough, while balancing office-based working and working from home.
If you have any questions about this role or the wider programme, please visit https://letstalkredbridge.uk.engagementhq.com/hub-page/community-hubs or email hubs@redbridge.gov.uk.
