The role:
The Contact and Support Team is positioned within Children's Services in the Access to Resources (ART) Service. It is a dynamic and busy team interacting with each service area across Children's Services. The team facilitates supervised contact at crucial moments in the lives of children and their families and has also been supporting families in the community and in their homes. Arrangements for contact are made putting the child or young person’s needs at the centre. The service also offers support to help maintain placements and support families to stop their children coming into care.
Supervising contact is a crucial task, the Team Manger of the Contact and Support Team will provide exemplary leadership, management, and professional guidance to a team of Contact and Support Workers and Contact Coordinators. The role will promote and govern excellent practice, including; planning and working purposefully with families, foster carers and Social Work professionals to safeguard children and young people, and promote positive outcomes. The role is responsible to ensure the delivery of a Contact and Support Team which is both relationship-based and responsive to the needs of children, young people and their families in a timely manner. The Team Manager will promote, lead and manage the development of excellent and confident practitioners.
About you:
You will hold a recognised social work qualification or equivalent child care equivalent qualification and have knowledge of the placement needs of looked after children and of care leavers. In addition you will have experience of managing a team and working across organisational boundaries to achieve positive outcomes for children.
