The Children and Adults Disability Service (CAD) is a singly managed Education and Social Care service. We work together to achieve positive outcomes and reducing risk of harm to children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.

We are currently looking to recruit a Manager for our Social Care team within the Children and Young adults Disability Service. The successful candidate will join a lively and dedicated management team and drive the social care agenda within the service.

You will directly supervise 2 Deputy Team managers who will in turn supervise social care workers both qualified and unqualified, you will take responsibility for developing skills, expertise and knowledge for a wide range of practice issues whilst providing consultation, coaching and mentoring within the team.

Whilst managing staff and overseeing complex caseloads, including CIN, CP and Children in Care you will develop and maintain high professional standards and excellent social work practice within the integrated service. You will have a key role in ensuring social work contribution to Education, Health and Care plans and the delivery of short breaks.

 You will be responsible for monitoring the performance of the staff you supervise and ensuring statutory time frames are met.

 In this role you will play a key role in the delivery of a highly effective social care support service as we work to improve outcomes for children and young people with special educational needs and disability.

You will be responsible for identifying gaps in provision and working with commissioning and other colleagues to develop provision to meet the identified social care needs of children and young people with SEND.

You will be responsible for leading the preparation for adulthood support overseeing the work of 2  P4A social workers within the team. You will be the link through to adult social care and will be responsible for tracking and monitoring the transition through to adulthood of young people with SEND.

About You

The successful candidate will be a proven leader with strong management skills including recruitment, and budget management.

You will have substantial experience of working with children and families, a social work qualification as recognised by Social Work England and post-qualification training, as well as excellent knowledge of current policy and practice including special educational needs and disability.

Your outstanding communication skills will be coupled with a proven ability to work collaboratively with multi agency partners and develop effective working relationships with a wide range of service providers.

Ideally you will have experience of working in a transition to adulthood role and knowledge of the legal framework relevant to Adult social Care
