The Opportunity
We have a new vacancy available for a Team Manager in the Social Work with Families Service. We are looking for a passionate and experienced Team Manager, you will supervise up to four team members and lead the team of up to 8 staff with the support of an Assistant Team Manager.
The team works primarily with children and families subject to Child Protection, Child in Need and care proceedings.
To be considered for the post, it is essential that you have a proven record of delivering high quality services for vulnerable children and young people. It is also a pre-requisite that you possess experience in a statutory children’s social care setting and have an excellent working knowledge and understanding of legislative framework, relevant research and national developments, and policies relating to Children’s Social Care

About You
As an experienced leader, we will look to you to champion and drive service improvement, by leading from the front line and working alongside our partners. You will be managing a high performing team.
We’ll want you to build and maintain positive relationships within your permanent staff team – focusing on the child and their environment, placing their health and safety as your number one priority.
You’ll be expected to allocate cases, shape and influence practice, demonstrating confident analysis and decision making, ensure practitioners receive reflective, challenging and explorative supervision to enable informed decision-making on children and young people’s cases.
We are looking for existing team managers, deputy team managers capable of working in a leadership, operational manager role.
Your compassion and drive will enable you to effectively engage with Social Workers, supporting them to build relationships with children, young people and their families to create change.
If you have a keen social awareness and an ability to work with genuine empathy and compassion to support staff, children and families – whilst working towards genuine sustainable solutions – then there’s a strong chance you’ll fit in well here.
Above all else, we are looking for people that genuinely care about improving the lives of children, young people and families in Croydon
You will be a Qualified and registered Social Worker who is Social Work England registered
Full time 36 hours per week
