Payroll Team Leader
Job introduction
We are recruiting two experienced, positive, and professional Payroll Team Leaders to join us at Brighton & Hove City Council, one to manage the corporate team and the other to manage the schools team. The teams are responsible for providing a customer focused payroll and pensions service to BHCC employees.
The posts are for a fixed term period of 6 months to support the teams transition to the newly created Welfare Revenues & Business Support service.

About the role
Role specific responsibilities – Payroll Team Leader x 2
You will manage, motivate, and develop a team of Payroll Officers ensuring the delivery of an effective and efficient transactional payroll service.
Part of the role requires you to manage, interpret, and advise on government legislation and Council policy in relation to complex pay and benefits, pensions, and employment queries.
You will contribute to the development and implementation of improvements in IT, workflow, and transactional payroll processes.
As well as excellent management skills, you need excellent communication skills to build good working relationships with customers to ensure customer expectations are being met.

Additional information
Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.
Work Permits: This role does not meet the requirement for UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) Points-based Immigration System. Successful candidates will need to evidence that they have the Right to Work in the UK.
