Job introduction

Bright Start Nursery is a 55 place nursery located in the heart of Brighton and provides integrated early learning and care for children aged 0 to 5 years. With a welcoming atmosphere and dedicated staff, we aim to create a busy, vibrant environment and personal service.

We are looking for a Deputy Nursery Manager, who will also take on SENDCo duties, to join our team until July 2023.


Fixed term for: Until July 2023 to cover parental leave

About the role

Applicants must have Early Years Professional or Early Years Teacher status or Qualified Teacher status; experience and excellent knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and of the Ofsted Welfare requirements; share our passion and ethos for working with and developing learning opportunities for young children; have experience and the ability to manage staff and take on management responsibilities; excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise and work with children, colleagues, parents and the local community; a good understanding of record keeping and working knowledge of information systems.

If successful, you will play a key role as part of our management team to lead and support staff in delivering effective practice in the Early Years Foundation Stage. You will lead on areas of practice and support the staff team to deliver goals. You will provide integrated early learning and care for children aged from 0 to 5 years; will work with the Nursery Manger to meet consistently high standards and will deputise for the Nursery Manager in their absence.

Additional information

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.
