£49,674 to £52,746 ( plus £3,000 annual market supplement)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic Team Manager to join Adult Social Care Operations, to lead our front-door Access Team. The Team Manager role represents a unique opportunity to join a high performing, front door service in a key leadership role, delivering high quality information, advice and guidance as well as offering flexible and responsive services for Adults in Newham. The post-holder will maintain and develop good models of stakeholder engagement in decision-making and support effective co-planning and collaborative working between the staff and colleagues across adults’ social care and health.

About the job
Managing our Access team, you will find an extremely collaborative team awaits you. You will work with practice managers, social workers, social care officers and access officers who are dedicated to providing a high quality front door service to our residents. You will lead the team with a strengths based focus to provide high quality information, advice and guidance as well as carrying out Care Act assessments.
As well as managing the performance of the team you will have the opportunity be directly involved in the trailblazer initiative for national social care reforms. The London Borough of Newham is one of the five local authorities across England that will be first to implement adult social care charging reforms. We will be working to put the new charging reform plans in place by January 2023 ahead of a national rollout in October next year.

We are looking for a resilient, experienced, qualified Social Work or Occupational Therapy practitioner who has experience of direct leadership or can demonstrate that they are ready for it. You are a dynamic, confident, practitioner who is able to deal with a consistently busy environment. To be successful in this role you must have strong attention to detail and be performance driven and be able to develop new processes when required. Excellent communication skills are also required. Above all you will help us to provide a service that maximises choice and independence to the residents of the London Borough of Newham
