The Royal Liberty School where “pupils are well behaved, respectful and courteous” and “parents value the sense of community, which is palpable throughout the school” (OFSTED February 2019).

We are seeking to appoint an excellent classroom practitioner to teach children with learning difficulties in our growing SEND Faculty. This will be a brand new post suitable for an experienced practitioner. They will need to take the lead in developing a bespoke curriculum for a very small Nurture Group within the school. This group will be working at a primary level. This post would be suitable for a primary teacher who is looking to work in a secondary school. There would be a dedicated area for the Nurture Group within the school.

The SEND team is enthusiastic, energetic and expert in supporting our students to reach their full potential. We are looking for an equally energetic, well-organised and flexible Teacher of SEND who:

  • Has experience of teaching students with a range of SEND, especially SEMH
  • Takes pride in delivering high quality teaching
  • Is ready to make a significant positive impact on our students and our whole school community
  • Is proactive and solution focussed

The successful candidate will be committed to our vision, our values and ethos, and have the interpersonal skills and ability to work with staff and students to achieve all they can.

We take a collaborative view of learning where good practice is shared through a structured INSET programme within school and across the Trust.

The Royal Liberty School is a small comprehensive, 11-16 school for boys, located close to Gidea Park Station, only 20 minutes from London Liverpool Street.  The school has recently celebrated its centenary and  is proud of its traditions, the strong sense of community and the excellent behaviour of the students.  It has been a member of the Success for All Educational Trust since 2017.

Results have shown impressive improvement in recent years with the majority of KPI’s including attendance  consistently above national average;

  • English 9-4 80%
  • Maths 9-4  85%
  • English and maths 9-4 76%

Due to increasing popularity an expansion programme by one form of entry has been underway since 2018 and will be completed in 2024.  As part of the Priority Schools Building Programme the school has just completed a £20 million refurbishment and building programme providing exceptional learning and sports facilities with further enhancements planned over the next two years.
