Peabody has opportunities for Housing Support Workers on a full and part-time basis at our young people’s supported housing scheme in Witham. The scheme provides support & accommodation to young people aged 16-21 years. The scheme operates 24 hours, 7 days a week, across 365 days per year (incl. weekends & bank holidays).
The staff team work within a rolling rota which includes 1-2 sleep-in duties on average per week.
We are looking for someone who has a trauma-informed and flexible approach to working, with great communication skills. You will also have a good understanding of the issues facing vulnerable young people; experience working alongside individuals with high support needs who present challenging & risky behaviours. A good knowledge of the benefits system and entitlements available to young people.
You will be key working individuals, empowering them to build upon and develop their independent living skills, and supporting them to move forward into independent living via a trauma-informed approach. Peabody South East is committed to providing excellent service to both its Tenants and staff.
Bramble Court provides accommodation for young people at risk and those leaving care. They will receive support before moving on into independent living. Tenants are offered help to develop skills such as budgeting, setting up home, and seeking employment or training. Staff also provide advice and support to help tenants gain access to other services and organisations. For example, they will help tenants to access health services, social care, or specialist services. Bramble Court is located in Witham and is within easy reach of the town centre. It provides accommodation for 25 young people. There is one flat which is used as an office and sleep-in area for staff.
