Head of Facilities Management
This is an exciting time to join the London Borough of Bromley. We are implementing an ambitious programme of transformation that will ensure that Bromley is a fantastic place to live and work, where everyone can lead healthy, safe and independent lives.
The property function is part way through transformation, moving towards a corporate landlord model for property management which will help us to manage our resources well, providing value for money and efficient and effective services for Bromley residents.
The council is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable property professional for the post of Head of Facilities Management to lead the delivery of hard and soft facilities management services for the operational estate. The operational estate comprises of a range of properties including offices, libraries, day centres, children and family centres, youth centres, leisure centres, depots, parks buildings and car parks. You will be responsible for delivery of planned and reactive maintenance, health and safety compliance and site management services.
As an inspirational and motivated leader that demonstrates the Council’s REAL values, you will manage a staff team of 27 and a category based supply chain to deliver excellent customer services. You will have a clear vision for the design and implementation of policies and procedures to manage the estate well under the new model and will ensure a performance culture that will support the delivery of the council’s wider strategic objectives.
You will be skilled at stakeholder management in a political environment, building constructive relationships across disciplines to deliver successful outcomes and excellent facilities management services. You will also be confident at budget management and control with a focus on value for money and financial performance, and a natural problem solver.
As a member of the property management team reporting to the Assistant Director: Property, you will work with the Head of Estates and Asset Management and the Head of Capital Projects to ensure that the property services are coordinated for the benefit of the council.
