Personal Advisor
Redbridge is an ambitious, diverse and exciting east-London borough. What we do is driven by changing our relationship with local people to support our vision. As a result, we've developed innovative ways to build our communities and transform our Council.
We're one of the fastest growing parts of the country and the third most diverse London borough. Our communities are attracted by a mixture of excellent schools, relatively affordable housing, high-quality open space and rapid transport connections into the heart of the city.
The role of Personal Advisor involves working alongside a range of professionals, with young adults, previously Looked After by the Local Authority between the ages of 18 – 25 years old.
The main duties would be supporting young people through the transition of being a Looked after Child to living independently, working in partnership with education/Training/Employment agencies and housing and health provisions.
You will provide high quality and comprehensive support to young people and empower them to plan, work towards and achieve their care and health outcomes.
You will contribute to efficient service delivery as an individual and as part of a team, in accordance with local policies procedures and legislation.
Do you have:
- experience of working with challenging young people from a diverse background and an understanding of the needs of Care Leavers who have been 'looked after' by the local authority.
- good report writing skills, can organise your workload and can manage a caseload of 25 Care Leavers with varying degrees of intervention
- a positive attitude towards Care Leavers and can help them see their potential and are you a team player
- the skills to develop good relationships with young people and can motivate them to become more independent and face the challenges of life.
If you have these key skills and are ready to make a difference, then we look forward to receiving your application.
