DEVELOPMENT MANAGEMENT TEAM LEADER

A fantastic new opportunity has opened up at Uttlesford District Council for an enthusiastic, experienced Development Management Team Leader to join our Service.

ABOUT THE JOB

We are dedicated to achieving quality place making outcomes for the communities which will be created in our District. This role will be demanding yet varied and rewarding. As the Development Management Team Leader, you will lead and manage a team of 6 ensuring that the performance of the Development Management team is acceptable and continually improving, through the deployment of effective performance management, staff learning and growth.

You will also be responsible for making recommendations on planning and other applications and passing them to the Development Manager for determination and using delegated powers to determine applications.

The successful applicant will at times be required to deputise for the Development Manager in their absence as required including Planning Committee and attendance at other committees/events.

ABOUT YOU

In order to succeed in this role, you’ll have excellent interpersonal and IT skills. It is essential that you have a thorough understanding of the purpose and function of the Town and Country Planning Act, sound knowledge of Planning Legislation and a thorough knowledge of Development Management Legislation.

In order to be considered for this position you will need to be a Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute and have comprehensive knowledge of working in a Local Planning Authority, as well as access to your own vehicle.
