Assistant Director - Quality Assurance (Children and Young People)
£67,938 - £86,682 pa
Our vision for our children and young people
Our ambition is for Newham to be a place where every child and young person enjoys the best possible opportunities in life – through outstanding education; first-rate youth services; exceptional family support, and social care services that ensure no child is left behind.
Newham is a unique place. The youngest and most diverse borough in London – with almost a quarter of residents aged under-18 and more than 100 languages spoken – it is an exciting and challenging place to work with children. Despite its extraordinary potential, this is a borough that experiences huge socio-economic challenges, deprivation and unemployment; with more than half of children living in poverty. To work to improve outcomes for children and young people in Newham is to be an agent of change.
This is key leadership role reporting to the Director of Children's Services with strategic responsibility to lead and implement the Councils Quality Assurance Framework within Children’s Services, improving outcomes for children and families, whilst also ensuring there is critical challenge to standards and practice in line with national and local performance indicators.
We are looking for a talented individual with the energy and enthusiasm to join our leadership team that together will deliver innovative services, places and improve the lives of the residents and people that make up the vibrant communities of Newham. The successful person will need to work collaboratively and empathetically with the community, across all directorates and with all stakeholders. This position is looking for someone who isn’t afraid to challenge how services are delivered, bringing new ideas and a new approach. This is an exciting time to be joining Newham, and we are looking for people who can embrace this and help us move towards a great future for everyone.
