Mile Oak Primary School is a large school in Portslade with 457 pupils on roll. We are currently on a rapidly improving school journey where we are supporting each other to drive school improvement. As a school, we believe that it is our collective responsibility to ensure that every child thrives.
We are an inclusive and dynamic school with a warm, friendly working environment. We very much welcome new members of staff who will work hard for our children and play a role in the life of the whole school. The school would expect you to share our vision, values and pledges.
About the role
We are looking to recruit an Individual Needs Assistant to support a child in a mainstream Key Stage 1 classroom. As this position is for a child who is on the pathway to receiving an Education, Health and Care Plan, this role will be in place whilst the child attends our school. The child you will be supporting has a diagnosis of Autism and needs help with attention and listening, making activity choices and play skills. The child is a bright little button with good vocabulary who benefits from sensory breaks and visual supports.
We welcome and encourage visits to the school and if you wish to arrange this, please contact Lynne Szkolar via email lynneszkolar@mileoak.brighton-hove.sch.uk.
