The Trading Standards Team at Barking and Dagenham is part of a larger group of Regulatory Services within the Law and Governance Directorate. Our small and dynamic team is located centrally at Barking Town Hall close to Barking Town Centre with excellent transport connections. We are looking for a highly professional Senior Trading Standards Officer who has all of the key behaviours expected from our organisation and who is capable of providing both specialist knowledge and vision. This position requires a commitment and passion for Trading Standards work. The successful candidate will have outstanding problem solving and effective communication skills. The candidate will be required to work with stakeholders and colleagues across the authority to secure the best outcomes for residents. They will be responsible for a key specialism within the Trading Standards Team and will play a central role in ensuring that our statutory duties and key priorities are met. Special Requirements for this post:

The successful candidate will hold a Trading Standards qualification including Weights and Measures.
