Senior Democratic Services & Governance Officer
We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual who can take a lead role in helping to develop and deliver democratic services in Croydon.
You’ll have the skills and experience of working in a democratic environment and experience of supporting executive and non-executive decision making. This role is not just about operational delivery so you’ll have experience of building strong relationships and winning the confidence of members, officers, and other stakeholders. You’ll need both first class verbal and written communication skills, plus excellent negotiating and influencing skills; along with a strong understanding of current policy issues likely to impact both local government and the wider communities across Croydon.
This senior role sits within the forward looking Democratic Services and Scrutiny Function and has responsibility for managing and leading two other members of staff. With a strong emphasis on collaboration, learning and development, you will also play a key role on the service’s management team.
If you share our values and have the relevant skills and experience to help us deliver our vision for democratic services then we would love to hear from you. If you would like to discuss the role informally, please contact the Head of Democratic Services, Stephen Rowan, on 020 8726 6000.
