Children’s Commissioning Officer
12 months (until December 2022) Fixed Term Contract opportunity with a possibility to become permanent
The Commissioning Officer role is very diverse and will focus on supporting the Children’s Commissioning portfolio of contracts. Key tasks will involve the identification and understanding of need across the borough; developing policy and planning services to address needs; reviewing contracted services currently in place against target outcomes; and the analysis of the impact of service provision in the context of wider legislation and environmental factors such as predicted population changes and providing monitoring and administrative support.
You will be a flexible thinker; enjoy new challenges; have good analytical and communication skills; be equally able to work individually and as part of a team and have strong negotiation skills. You will need to have strong interpersonal skills and be good at working in partnership with health and social care partners, service providers, service users and their carers to develop joint initiatives and seek more creative and effective ways of working. The post holder will be required to work on a variety of projects, supporting the Children’s Commissioning team in the first instance, and other Commissioning Managers across the team with their portfolios.
The postholder will initially focus on active pieces of work in relation to the 0-19 years Healthy Child Programme contract, and provision for Looked After Children and Children with Disabilities. However, these will be subject to change to reflect departmental priorities.
