Emotional Literacy Practitioner
Hours: 16 hours per week - days negotiable
Grade: Grade 3 points 5 - 9
Salary: £22,185 - £23,826 full time equivalent salary p.a. (Actual salary will be pro rata)
We are seeking to appoint an experienced, well organised and skilled and person to support pupils within the school as Emotional Literacy Practitioner. If you are passionate about helping children, enjoy variety in your role and thrive on working in a busy environment, this is a great opportunity for you. The successful candidate should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, relate well to children and possess qualifications and training in relevant field.
Working on your own initiative within the learning environment is important, so you must have a flexible attitude to react to different situations throughout the school day and the ability to use your knowledge and experience within the learning environment.
The successful candidate will join a supportive, friendly and committed team of staff. A full induction programme is offered, alongside good professional development opportunities.
We are looking for a Practitioner who has:
Experience of working within a school.
Is Knowledgeable of Boxall Profiles and their use.
Can plan and deliver individualised programmes of support for children to develop their emotional literacy, including:
− Awareness of own and other people’s emotions
− Development of an increased range of emotional vocabulary
− Management of stress, grief, anger and conflict
− Development of social interaction skills
− Development of the ability to initiate and maintain friendships
− Promotion of a realistic self-concept and good self-esteem
Enthusiastic and highly motivated
Friendly, caring, hardworking with high expectations
Well qualified or able to demonstrate complex understanding of Trauma Impact and or / psychology.
