As part of our caseload reduction restructure we have created an Assistant Team Manager (ATM) role within the 10/2 Team in the Divert! Service.
Divert! is a multidisciplinary service that works intensively with children who are at risk of extra familial harm in the community and / or at risk of entering the care of the local authority. We aim to bring about positive change, enabling children to remain safely with their families and in their communities.

ABOUT THE JOB
Assistant Team Managers (ATMs) play a vital role in supporting our Newham Together vision by ensuring that our social workers are supported and that high quality practice is delivered to children and families. ATMs are expected to show strong but compassionate leadership and create a secure team environment of open discussion/challenge whilst allowing systemic practice to flourish.
The 10/2 team is a small team of case holding social workers, positioned within a multidisciplinary specialist service. The team provide a response to contextual harm, carrying smaller caseloads than other social work team, to enable flexible intensive relationship work that is based on systemic approaches and supported by the wider team and a clinical lead.

We're looking for resilient, experienced qualified social work practitioners who have experience of direct leadership or can demonstrate that they are ready for it. You are a confident systemic practitioner who is passionate about improving children and young people’s lives, and you pride yourself on supporting and developing people and practice.
You have experience and an understanding of working within a diverse, urban community; and share our ambition and energy in embracing new ways of working. You are a positive individual with a mature approach and are conscious of the importance of professional development for yourself and your team. You are always open to helping others.
You will also have experience of working directly with children who are at risk of exploitation in the community in the context of multiagency planning for Children in Need, with a Child Protection plan and when children are Looked After .
You are a qualified social worker and registered with Social Work England.
