Redden Court School, a place where “Pupils are enthusiastic about coming to school to learn.” (OFSTED SEPTEMBER 2016)
Would you like to move your career forward in a friendly environment with eager students and support from an experienced leadership team, in one of the best mixed comprehensive schools for 11-16 in our Local Authority. We are oversubscribed, serve Harold Wood well and we are only twenty minutes from the heart of London.
Our school mantra is "Committed to Success for All." That includes our staff and we want the very best for our students. OFSTED said we “have created an inclusive community where pupils and staff relate well to each other. The school is focused on working with families to raise aspirations for pupils.”
We wish to appoint a Behaviour for Learning Mentor to support our young people overcome behavioural barriers to their learning in order for them to achieve their full potential. The specific role here will be to work with our CLA students. As a school, we are very inclusive and have a total of 13 CLAs. This is far beyond the average for a Secondary School. In this post you will work alongside another Learning Mentor who is part time and works across the wider school body.
We are looking for someone who has a positive approach, is resilient and can deal with students who are vulnerable. The successful candidate must have an approachable manner and recent experience of working with young people would be desirable.
The title Behaviour for Learning Mentor highlights the need for students to become independent learners with support and strategies to overcome behavioural issues where appropriate.
The successful candidate will be committed to our vision, our values and ethos, and have the interpersonal skills and ability to work with staff and students to achieve all they can. If you would like to speak to the Deputy Head for Pastoral, Mr K Ward, please feel free to telephone the school.
We welcome enquiries from everyone and value diversity in our workforce. Applications are welcome from all sections of the community regardless of gender, gender identity, ethnic origin, disability, age or sexual orientation. References from 2 previous employers will be sought prior to interview.

Closing date: Thursday 9th December 2021 at 9:00am
Interviews will take place on Monday 13th December 2021
Successful candidate will be invited for a handover day on Tuesday 14th December 2021
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and we expect all staff to share this commitment. We require the successful candidate to undertake an enhanced criminal records check via the Disclosure and Barring Service.
