Senior Lawyer (Major Projects)

ABOUT THE JOB
This is an exciting opportunity that will be focusing on providing forward thinking, customer focused and professional legal advice, support and assistance to the Council, Senior Leaders, Members and Partners.
You will play an instrumental part in supporting the success of large-scale regeneration activity and the economic growth ambitions for Wirral. You will advise the Council on major projects including joint venture and grant funded arrangements.
The role is full-time at 36 hours a week. Additionally, Wirral strongly supports a flexible and agile working approach.
ABOUT YOU
We are looking for candidates with extensive experience of providing legal advice relating to major regeneration & development projects. You will have excellent communication and IT skills, good commercial acumen and the ability to work effectively as part of a busy team of solicitors and legal assistants.
You will be confident in negotiating and drafting complex and high value agreements and handling high profile commercial matters. You will have the ability to work well under pressure and assist the Lead Principal Lawyer to manage a busy workload to tight deadlines.
The successful candidate will have a positive, ‘can-do’ style of working whilst having the confidence to challenge the status quo and show tact, diplomacy, empathy and politically awareness with resilience, especially in dealing with competing and demanding pressures. Ultimately, you will demonstrate a commitment and enthusiasm to making a difference for residents, you will role model our values and will be an ambassador for the Council.
Please note, that in order to be considered for this position, you must be a qualified and practising barrister, solicitor, legal executive (Fellow) or equivalent (subject to or awaiting QLTS).
