About the role

Haringey has established an exciting approach to early intervention and prevention that is based on strength-based relationships focusing on ‘what is strong not on what is wrong’.

We are breaking down organisational barriers and borders and using all our available strengths and residents to help our residents live their version of a good life.

Our ethos is about making things happen, whether it’s working with one individual, influencing partners from across the sector to come together and create positive change, or focusing on one priority – we challenge, encourage and enable. This was seen in our Haringey Together approach to the Covid 19 pandemic and our ‘Here to Help’ approach to supporting residents.

We have a strong focus on equity and tailored solutions to be truly responsive to what will work with our residents and communities. At the heart of our support are residents and communities who we work with to evolve and develop what we are doing so it’s fit for purpose, doing with, not to.

Central to this approach is the Connected Communities programme which will form a key part of your portfolio of work. In addition, you will support and enhance the work of thematic boards such as the Welcome Board and Keeping People Healthy Board encouraging and enabling a collective approach.

You will act as a dynamic day to day leader whilst recognising and influencing the wider opportunities to embed our approach and promote change. This will require you to work at a high strategic level whilst delivering operationally. Key pieces of work will include the Community Enablement Framework and Voluntary and Community Sector Strategy and the development of Haringey’s approach to community buildings.

What do we do?

  • We help residents to access the right help at the right time
  • We focus on what is strong not on what is wrong
  • We are constantly learning
