Work location: London

Hours per week: 36

Contract type: Temporary up to 36 months

About Us:

Creating a model, carbon-neutral estate in collaboration with residents

Following the Grenfell Tower Tragedy, we have been working in partnership with residents of the Lancaster West Estate to co-design and deliver excellent housing services. This includes the complex refurbishment of 795 council-owned homes, to deliver on a commitment to create a 21st century model social housing estate that is carbon-neutral by 2030.

The Role:

You’ll design and deliver a wide range of interdependent mechanical, electrical and plumbing upgrades to include the use of mechanical ventilation with heat recovery, solar PV and smart energy-saving technology, lifts, CCTV, video door entry systems and a new district heat network powered by renewable energy.

You’ll not only be managing consultants and contractors to achieve ambitious environmental targets, but also collaborating with one of the most diverse and resilient communities in the UK to make informed decisions about the homes they live in.

About You:

We’re looking for someone who combines ideas and energy with a passion to make a difference to people’s lives. Most likely from a local authority or housing association background, you’ll be ready to work sensitively and collaboratively with Lancaster West residents, showing empathy and inspiring confidence.

At the same time, you’ll need a track-record of successfully delivering mechanical, electrical and plumbing contracts in a retrofit context. This will include being able to deal assertively with consultants and contractors.

In return, you can look forward to a package that includes a competitive salary, a high-quality pension scheme and generous annual leave plus bank holidays.

Please apply online explaining how you meet the requirements set out in the person specification and job description. CV’s alone will not be considered for this role.
