The Opportunity
Redbridge has exciting opportunities such the Crossrail corridor. We need to proactively manage the investment being made in the borough to deliver a significant amount of new housing and supporting community infrastructure, drive economic growth to encourage local businesses to thrive and create a place in which people are proud to live, work and visit.
The Development Management team have worked to transform the service over recent years to meet the challenges faced by unprecedented growth in the borough, and in 2020 were named Local Authority Planning Team of the Year in the National Planning Awards. This is a key role in the Planning Service in Redbridge, leading the Development
Management team to ensure the continuation of its successful performance.
With experience of management at a principal or team leader level this is a great opportunity to take the next step in your career to lead a DM service. The team is already efficient and highly performing and we are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, committed person to keep it on track.
The position is a Fixed Term contract for 12 months (maternity cover). The post holder will report to the Head of Planning and work closely with colleagues within the Planning Service as well as across the Council and external stakeholders. You will be required to have experience of managing a team and successful partnership working, as well as a thorough knowledge of the statutory functions of a local authority.
