An Exciting And Unique Opportunity To Set Up And Manage A New Reablement Homecare Service

Brent is a tremendously vibrant London borough where the iconic arch of Wembley Stadium dominates the skyline. Spanning both inner and outer London, it is a borough of huge contrasts in terms of its economic, environmental, ethnic and social make up. Brent’s diversity is evident to all who visit our borough and our long history of ethnic and cultural diversity has created a place that is truly unique and valued by those who live and work here.

The council is pursuing a far-reaching transformation agenda that better meets the needs of our community so it is an exciting time to join us.

The Post

Brent Council is committed to supporting vulnerable people who are recovering from a serious illness or injury to quickly regain their skills and confidence so they can get on with their lives and be as independent and active as possible. The Council has taken the decision to set up an innovative in-house reablement homecare service which has the skills and expertise to support people with the most complex needs during their period of recovery.

It will provide the flexibility to tailor and quickly adjust support in response to the progress the person is making at each stage of their journey to recovery. It will also open up opportunities to work more collaboratively with health partners to make rehab and reablement pathways more joined up. This will include opportunities to jointly develop and test new models of care and improve the customer experience and outcomes for people using community rehab and reablement services.

Our aim is to launch the new service in April 2022 and this role will provide a unique opportunity to shape and set up the new service as well as managing all aspects of the day-to-day operation once it is live. The immediate priorities will be to complete the process to register the service with the Care Quality Commission, recruit and train the new team and get the service operationally ready to go-live in April. Our ambition is to deliver outstanding reablement services to our residents and this role will be pivotal in developing a service and team that can deliver this

The Person

We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and highly motivated Registered Reablement Homecare Manager.

The successful candidate will already be a Care Quality Commission (CQC) Registered Manager with over 3 years experience of managing regulated personal care activities and domiciliary care services that are rated as good or outstanding.

You will be experienced in setting up and developing safe and well led homecare services and have recent experience gained in the last 3 years of managing reablement services that support people to regain skills and build confidence to live as independently as possible in their own homes.

You will be familiar with the requirements of the Health and Social Care 2008 and CQC adult social care registration assessment framework and will have prepared services for inspection.

You will be customer focused and passionate about supporting and enabling people to achieve their goals for independence. You will need to have well developed leadership and hands-on operational management skills to build an outstanding reablement homecare team, set up effective systems and processes and manage all day-to-day aspects of the service to deliver the very best outcomes for clients.

So if you’d like to be part of building an innovative and exciting new service and want to make a big difference by enabling people to achieve their goals for independent living, then we’d love to hear from you!
