We are seeking an experienced Public Health Intelligence Specialist who will based within the Public Health team in Enfield Council. This is an exciting time to join the team. Are you looking for an opportunity to play a key role in driving improvements in health and commissioning by using innovative Health Intelligence techniques? This is a development role for someone who is interested to work in Public Health in future.

The Health Intelligence Manager leads and manages the health intelligence team of a Senior Public Health Intelligence Specialist and Public Health Intelligence Specialist.

Areas of work will include data collection and reporting, analytical contribution to of various reports and performance reporting. A key area of responsibility is to develop, improve and maintain the JSNA website. You will also be managing one Public Health Intelligence analyst and be responsible for deputising for the Health Intelligence Manager. There will be a particular focus on building relationships with local authority departments and the NHS, contributing to CCG and ICS commissioning and intelligence. The post requires expertise in insights, interpretation and data interpretation to support evidence-based decision making. The role provides advice to commissioners, supports effective delivery of services contribution to the reduction of health inequalities in the borough.

To succeed you will need:

  • Data and statistical analytic skills and experience
  • An interest and enthusiasm in working with Public Health data and have an ambition to learn and develop Public Health skills.
  • Excellent report writing skills for different audiences (public health, commissioners, academic and residents)
  • Excellent ICT skills together with the enthusiasm, appetite and ability to embrace new technological solutions such as data visualisation techniques, infographics and website maintenance and Power BI techniques would be an added advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills and to enjoy being part of a team
  • To demonstrate agility and adaptability in mindset and ways of working
  • To be able to organise your own work and manage multiple projects and information requests
  • Actively engage in positive cross-organisational communications and team working
  • Share your skills and knowledge with colleagues in the other data and intelligence teams in the council and NHS.
  • Project management skills, ability write funding and grant applications skills are desirable
