Delivering both operational and strategic projects of the IT service, we’re looking for a talented Project Manager to contribute to our overarching vision, which is underpinned by our core objectives – driving council-wide improvements and nurturing relationships with stakeholders.

About the role

Working amongst a talented team of professionals within the Change and Demand IT function, this role supports the identification and implementation of digital and data products for the Future Newham Programme -enabling a streamlined user experience, whilst championing collaborative ways of working with our residents, colleagues and partners.

As part of our digital transformation journey, this role is integral to identifying solutions for urgent and critical infrastructure challenges. As such, the Project Manager takes an active lead in reviewing key dependencies between the various council programmes and projects.

Ultimately, the role takes responsibility for managing implementation and change projects, working closely with the IT Senior Leadership Team, as well as drawing on resources from a wide-range of multi-disciplinary teams.   

About you

You’ll be joining at a critical time for Newham, gaining the opportunity to shape how the organisation approaches change; enabling us to work in a more agile and people focused way.

We’re looking for candidates that have a proven track-record in leading IT implementation projects that transform how organisations work in accordance with industry recognised project management methodologies (e.g. Waterfall, Agile etc.)

A key element of this role will be identifying and resolving issues with the current IT infrastructure, which you will be able to evidence examples of within your application.  Working alongside colleagues and stakeholders you will also be able to display your experience of delivering change initiatives that benefit the technology infrastructure of large complex organisations.
