We're one of the fastest growing parts of the country and the third most diverse London borough. Our communities are attracted by a mixture of excellent schools, relatively affordable housing, high-quality open space and rapid transport connections into the heart of the City.

We are seeking to recruit an experienced Former Tenants Arrears Officer. The team are responsible for monitoring former rent accounts and ensuring that income collection is maximised.

You will be required to assist in income maximization and collection of arrears. Part of the role will also include arrears recovery in respect of former tenant debt and be responsible for the management of former tenant arrears including tracing, referrals to internal and external partners for collection, initiating legal proceedings and making recommendations for refunds, write-offs and credits.

You will have experience of working with the public and an in-depth knowledge of housing benefits and welfare reform legislation.

You must be numerate and have experience of dealing with account enquiries within a housing or finance environment. Ideally you will be IT literate, have credit control or debt management experience.
